Kickstart to Referencing

Get the 101 on referencing and applying the APA Style for referencing to your work. We'll cover all the basics about why you need to reference and how to build your referencing skills for your assignments.
You'll learn how to:
- summarise and paraphrase research
- write in-text citations and create reference lists.
There'll be lots of interactive activities so you can ask questions and practice your new skills.
From Start to Submit (Part 2 of 5): Being a researcher

Get the most out of the research phase so you can develop your assessment's argument.

- how to select sources
- reading critically.
This workshop is part of the From Start to Submit: Writing successful assessments series of five workshops to enhance academic writing and assessment skills. We recommend attending all workshops, though you can go to as many workshops as you like.

Hone your skills so you can reference with style and confidence. We'll cover how to reference secondary sources, block quotes, complex websites, non-text sources and online dictionaries. You'll even learn what to do when referencing information is not available for a source.
This workshop starts off from where Kickstart to referencing finished. We will assume you can reference books, journal articles and simple online documents.
